We're going between 1.0.1 and 1.8.1 alot to test out bukkit, etc.  Since I don't want to have to post a new message EVERY time we switch, I will help you in two ways:

One there will be a subheading at the top of the website that will either say "Currently 1.8.1" or "Currently 1.0.1".  I will update that everytime I change the server.  Also the server message will either say "Using 1.8.1" or "Using 1.0.1"

NOTE:

Make sure you have a backup of both minecraft.jar files so you can switch as you please.  A useful program I mentioned earlier is mcNostalgia, for Windows.

This allows you to change your minecraft version to any past/present version you wish on command, very useful.

We wanted to work with bukkit plugins, and since the server host does not support Bukkit 1.0.0 Dev, we're downrading to Bukkit 1.8.1 RB.  We can't give you the .jar for 1.8.1: that's illegal. So you can use MCNostalgia or something similar if you want to join us.

If any buildcrew are not white-listed message me.  I may have some glitches w/ the whitelist.

Or original FC map is up, and we ask everyone not to build without direct permission from Dot145 or ForhavuMahea (me).

Also, only buildcrew is allowed on.  Hope everyone had fun on the server so far.  Thanks for supporting us.

1. No placing or removing any blocks without Dot145/Forhavumahea permission

2. No uses of TNT without Dot145/Forhavumahea supervision

3.  No survival mode.  Don't attack creepers.

If any rule is borken we may have to back up. So please follow rules. No exceptions.

Server is up.  24/7.  No downtime.  No lag (as far as I've seen). Give all of your thanks to Luckylife, who attended Minecon and got a discount coupon to host a server for 3 months. For these 3 months, we're paying $18. It's wonderfully cheap! After our 3 months, we will likely have our own machine that we can host ForhavuCraft on, for free, all the time.

We're all really excited, and want to thank all of you who inspired and supported us to keep going, and make this real.  We're going to give you guys a little treat, and will let you log on to the server now, but it's a new temporary world that we've already built on for fun.

Feel free to make your own creations and show off to us.  If we see something cool, we may even ask you to join the BuildCrew.  But have fun.  Only a couple of rules.

1. No rude comments/profanity

2. Please don't grief.  I know it's just a temp. server, but some people like to keep their creations.

3.  Don't spam chat.

4.  Don't kill people unless all members wishing to partake in combat announce a fight will commence. If someone doesn't want to fight, don't attack them.

Hey there ForhavuCraft members!

This is big.  The person who is running ForhavuCraft at the moment attending Minecon, and recieved a coupon for 50% off a Minecraft server.

So we're like cool, it'll still be a fair amount of money, but that's cool for the future.  When ForhavuCraft gets bigger, we can implement this.  Then someone pointed out an important fact.

It expires in 4 days

Which means in order to get the most out of this, we will have a real, professionally run server, 50% off, running 24/7.  For the next 6 months or so.  Which means we have to make it worth the money also.  This means:

• We're going to add a donate button.  Our server hasn't shown much promise yet, but as we expand, we're hoping to show potentional that will cause players to donate to help keep the server running and make it better.
• We need to be on alot more.  BuildCrew on as much as they can everyday.  Get it running fast to everyone can play. 
  
• We may not do it.

As sad as that sounds, it may be too much money.  We're doing fine as we are now. Unless we advertise on Minecraft forums, we have no need for an official server, the only pros being an official static ip and 24/7 running time.  And less lag.  Maybe it is a good idea....

A decision will be made in 4 days.  Voice your opnion in the Forums or the comments in the news:  Should we take advantage of this deal?

Hold on, I'm trying to see if I can get the server up for 1.0.0. It won't have bukkit, but I could make it happen. Stay tuned.

So right when we were getting settled into 1.8.1, 1.9pre came out, followed by 1.0.  This means:

-Update bukkit

-Update plugins

-Delete unupdated plugins

-Make new plugins

-Get rid of the Ender Dragon.  (I'm sorry.  But until we can work something out with it, it will be left out)

-Install new revolutionary money mechanic. (Our original idea/programming)

-etc.

So..... Buildcrew working on the server is amazing at the moment.  But we're still moving slowly. Hang in there guys.

So the previous hoster of the server wasn't able to keep it up much, but it has switched hands.  I am hoping now it will be available much more to those with accepted BuildCrew apps.  Now I just have to get that new IP, and I'll inform all BuildCrew.

So the server is going up and down like a rollercoaster, mostly because we're still testing the limits of WorldEdit.  xD

Turns out it's very easy to crash a server, just a simple command that creates 52,362 blocks (my fault). 

Anyway, those of you with accepted build crew apps will be recieving the server IP, and op-status (I hope I can trust you)

Sorry for the whole rush, but it went live for about 5 minutes.  Then it's down.  We have to work out the kinks and get it on 24/7.  Then again, we're all afraid of creepers, as we don't have grief-protection, they will destroy our creations if we're not careful.  We need to reinstall plugins and WorldEdit, and get permissions in for everyone.  It's gonna take a day probably.  Sorry for the excitement, but we're really close.
